Lip filler is the use of hyaluronic acid to give the lips natural volume, hydration and definition. The right approach aims not for an exaggerated look but for a balanced lip that is in harmony with your whole face — one that is truly yours.
What Is Lip Filler?
With age or genetics, lips can thin and lose their contour. Hyaluronic acid-based fillers — a substance naturally present in the body — add volume and hydration and define the upper lip border (vermilion). When planned with attention to the upper-to-lower lip ratio, the smile line and facial symmetry, the results are remarkably natural.
Who Is It Suitable For?
- Those who want to add measured volume to thin lips
- Those wishing to refresh lip contours lost with age
- Those seeking balance/proportion between the upper and lower lip
- Those bothered by downturned corners or a dry, cracked appearance
How Is It Performed?
First, your lip structure, smile line and facial proportions are assessed; we decide together how much volume will look natural. For comfort, numbing creams or local anaesthesia are generally used.
Hyaluronic acid is placed layer by layer in controlled amounts using a fine cannula or needle. The procedure takes around 20–30 minutes. Most products offer a natural feel and, where needed, the advantage of reversibility (dissolvability).
Results & Recovery
Mild swelling, tenderness or, rarely, small bruising may occur in the first few days; this is expected and temporary. You will see the final, settled result within about 1–2 weeks. Avoiding very hot environments and intense exercise on the first day is advised.
